Amy grew up in Kentucky
With drug riddles parents in a poverty scene
One goal to make it outta there alive

With dreams of ambition to block out her fate

Amy hops around tryin’ to make a stable life
She knows she’ll have to remake just what she like
Meets a young boy to replace her dad
And uses him for everything that she don’t have
Amy draws him in anyway that she can

But there’ll come a time when the boy just won’t stay
So Amy says that she’s got something to say
That next June a baby is on the way
And that he needs to stay and fix his mistake

But when a promise of a baby ain’t comin’ true
Amy's gotta dig her brain to find an excuse
So she tells him of a fortune she’ll see in 09’
That a settlements coming on her 18th birthday
So like a fool he sits and waits till that day

Amy gets the money just as she had said
But with ten grand goes all that she’d had had
She burns all the bridges and leaves the boy
To set out for the dreams that her fate had destroyed

Is that money and drugs make each other burn
